How to get there
Access to Pico Ruivo is only avaible by walking in via Achada do Teixeira, (PR.1)Vereda do Areeiro, (PR.1.1)Vereda da Ilha, (PR.1.2)Vereda do Pico Ruivo and via (PR.1.3)Vereda da Encumeada.
The easiest alternative to reach the house will be to travel to the municipality of Santana, following the Caminho do Pico das Pedras to Achada do Teixeira. Here you will find a parking lot where you can leave your car and follow the footpath of Pico Ruivo. Behind the building that is close to the parking lot is a basaltic formation called Homem em Pé (Standing Man).
You can always opt for rental cars, taxis, buses or tourist entertainment companies that have available the shuttle service to Achada do Teixeira along with the walks on our famous levadas.
